Delivering Hot Meals to Those in Need
High River Meals on Wheels is a volunteer operated registered charity that partners with the High River Hospital to deliver hot, nutritious meals to clients who need them. Our mission is to support the local community by ensuring those in need have access to delicious and wholesome food.

High River Meals on Wheels works in partnership with the High River Hospital.

Contact Food Services at the High River Hospital (403) 601-6629 to set up an account and start having meals delivered to your door.
Registration
Food Services at the High River Hospital registers the clients noting the days they wish to receive meals, any dietary restrictions, and/or preferences. High River Meals on Wheels invoices the clients monthly for the meals that have been delivered. Meal cancellations/changes for the day can be made by calling Food Services by 09:30 AM that day.
Meals
The meals are from the same menu plan that is served at the hospital. Clients' meals are prepared from the hospitals's daily selections with as close adherence to the clients' information on record as possible.
The price of a meal is $14.00 which includes a hot entree, a soup, and a desert. Sandwiches and salads are available for $3.00 each. High River Meals on Wheels contributes $1.00 to the cost of the meal to bring the price down to $13.00.
There is no minimum
Order for as many days as you would like. If you want extra for a visitor or the weekend that is fine too.
Volunteer Drivers
High River Meals on Wheels relies on volunteer drivers to deliver the meals to the clients and is always looking for new drivers
Deliveries
Deliveries take place over the noon hour and generally take an hour to complete. Drivers are asked to commit to a one-week schedule at a time (Monday - Friday including statutory holidays). There is no minimum requirement. Most drivers volunteer their time 3 to 6 times a year. It all depends on what works for the volunteer.
RCMP Check
Applicants are to undertake a RCMP Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector check which is done at no cost through the RCMP.
